Sifa za Kujiunga na Kidato cha Tano 2026/2027 Mpya

Welcome to nectatzresults  your source for Tanzanian education news, NECTA results, and RALGM updates. In this article, we bring you the new qualifications (or existing criteria) for joining Form Five for the 2026/2027 academic year , based on the current 2026 process. So far, there have been no major changes or “brand new qualifications” officially announced for this election unlike previous years, but the basic criteria remain the same and are based on the 2025 CSEE results, school placements, and RALGM guidelines. The Form Five 2025/2026 (often referred to as 2026) selection has already taken place (First Selection was announced in June 2025), and the Second Selection has also been completed. For 2026/2027, the process will begin shortly after the CSEE 2025/2026 results are announced. However, below are the current qualifications and criteria used.

Basic Qualifications for Joining Form Five – 2026/2027

According to RALMG and NECTA, a student needs to meet the following to be selected for government schools:

  1. CSEE (Form Four Results) Achievement: Obtain at least Division I, II, or III (Division IV may be selected in a few places, especially regular schools or middle schools, but the chances are small). At least 3 credits (grade D or better) in non-religious subjects or core subjects (i.e. not exclusively religious).
  2. Matching Combination: You must have subjects that match the specialization you want (e.g. PCM requires Physics, Chemistry, Math to have good grades). The government has introduced new combinations from 2024/2025 onwards, to add specialists in areas such as languages, business, arts, sports, and science. This may slightly affect the criteria by adding options, but the criteria for success have not changed.
  3.  Pointi na Cut-Off Points: Points are calculated as: A=1, B+=2, B=3, C=4, D=5, F=0. Cut-off points (the highest acceptable score) change annually based on national performance and ranking. Current estimates (from 2025/2026 and upcoming years): Regular schools: PCM/PCB ~7–11 points, CBG/EGM/HGE ~8–12. Gifted/specialty schools: Lowest points (5–9 for science).
  4. Other Additional Criteria: The selection takes into account priority for high-performing students (Division I/II), gender (equality of girls/boys in some schools), and location (council). Students with special needs (disabilities) have priority in appropriate schools. There is no specific age limit, but you must have recently completed the CSEE.
Important: No official “new qualifications” have been announced for 2026/2027 so far (February 2026). The main changes were in the new specifications (e.g. adding languages such as Chinese, Arabic, French; sports and arts courses such as BNS, LMS, KMS; and business such as EBuAc, BuAcCs). This opens up more opportunities, but achievement is still the key.
